So in this article, I would like to share some old and new official info that was announced by RS.
1. A newly designed website - Better usability and layout which is much easier to navigate and clearer info was provided.
2. 10 GBs a Day (for Premium Users) - That's right! Instead of a capped 5 GBs in a day which even I that can easily download upto 8GBs a day, RS has been kind enough to adjust the 5 days limit from 25GBs to 50GBs in the event of the European Soccer Championship 2008. 10GB will be resetted every day even if the complete download capacity is used up during the day.
3. No more Capthas - This is good news for free users. By eliminating the captchas RS simplified the use of RapidShare's free services significantly. In addition, free users can now upload and download bigger files (up to 200 megabyte). Anyhow, to protect RapidShare from congestion caused by automated downloading, we limited the maximum download speed for free‐users to 500 kilobit per second. To compensate for that, they do not have to wait anymore until starting a succeeding download.
4. RapidPoints for Premium Downloads - In the past, Premium and Collector's Accounts were only credited a RapidPoint when a file was downloaded by a Free User. From now on, Premium Downloads can generate up to 255 additional RapidPoints per day. Those extra points will be displayed in the account overview in the Premium or Collector's Zone. Once a day, the extra points will be added to the Premium or Collector's Account's RapidPoints balance and the extra points counter will be reset to zero. This means if a Premium User plans not to share his/her files, their account will be credited a total of 7650 RapidPoints in 30 days. It is beneficial for those that aren't sharing but for those like me that collect points from a free user, I can easily achieve up to 12k RapidPoints per month. Just in case you didn't know, you need 10k RapidPoints to redeem a full month.
5. Summer special "Buy 2, get 3″: 3-day premium account for only 4.50 Euro - Title says it all. If you should try it out, do it now before the promo ends.
